11.2 trillion logistics market attracts developers

The global logistics market, currently valued at $11.23 trillion, is projected to reach $23.14 trillion by 2034, according to Precedence Research. This growth is attracting technology companies looking to conquer the promising logistics automation sector, which is forecast to reach US$ 238.99 billion by 2034.

In Brazil, a SimpliRoute study , State of Logistics 2025, revealed that 80% of companies in the sector face operational efficiency challenges. In addition to trends such as artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics, the aim is to reduce human error and operating time with viable, cost-effective technologies, especially in a challenging and competitive macroeconomic scenario.

In this context, some apps are emerging in the country. Brazilian company 3CON, for example, has designed an app to optimize the picking process, i.e. the collection and separation of products in distribution centers (DCs). Using wearable technology that frees up employees' hands and makes it easier to see the items to be sorted, the aim is for the process to be completed with close to zero errors. The app has already been adopted by a major pharmaceutical retailer.

"Logistics is the backbone of global trade. We created an app to ensure the efficient movement of goods from producers to consumers. We are optimistic about its market potential and Brazil's creative ability to tackle logistical challenges and come up with the right solutions," says Genivaldo Araújo, CEO of 3CON, an IT consultancy.

The CEO says that the system came about when he identified repetitive errors in collection at the distribution centers. "We identified a high rate of rework. Incorrect products are separated and need to be returned to their original location, which doesn't happen immediately, causing, among other things, stock problems. The aim is to eliminate losses and triple operational efficiency," explains Araújo.

Wearable technology

To complete the solution, 3CON chose wearable technology, an armband that frees employees' hands and has a screen that clearly displays the item to be sorted and the desired quantity. "Wearables are effective in picking in warehouses, helping with the accuracy and speed of the process, as well as integrating with warehouse management systems and offering, for example, real-time visibility of stocks," says the CEO.

The system quickly identifies process flaws and needs for improvement. "Order picking is crucial for fast deliveries and business turnover. With the level of automation that can be implemented in the DCs, failures and losses are reduced to practically zero," concluded the executive.
